At wonnd we have refreshed our seasonal book selection, and we’re excited to share five stimulating reads for the start of autumn. These books are recommended, gifted or written by people we admire, respect, and value. We are so lucky to be surrounded by such enriching minds that broaden our horizons in every conversation. Thanks to all of them.

Five-book selection inspired by what guides our daily work at wonnd: people, culture and business.

Disparos contados, Fotografiar con actitud analógica en la era de la inmediatez by Leila Méndez, Nuevos cuadernos Anagrama, 2025. Spanish

In a world of digital immediacy, this book is a small beacon of hope. It’s an essay with lessons that extend far beyond photography, connecting us with the intention and intensity of the creative process and inviting us to engage with the present moment. The book explores the value of intuition and what Leila defines as an “analogue attitude”. Her perspective and smile are put into words. When you speak with Leila, you understand how she captures intangible essences in her photographs, making them visible. We love recognising that same intuitive value and knowledge in her vision, as it deeply resonates with our daily work at wonnd: connecting with the essence of each project.

Ejercicios de observación by Nicolás Nova. Ediciones Menguantes, 2025. Also published in French and English.

Nova’s book encourages us to sharpen our observational skills as a way to understand and actively engage with the world. It’s no coincidence this book came from our friend, Doan Phan, who visited us from Paris this summer. As the Director of Foresight at Ubisoft, Doan’s critical and introspective perspective has always been a great source of inspiration. We learned about Nicolás Nova recently and were saddened to hear of his passing last year. We invite you to visit the website lovingly created by his friends and family, https://www.nicolasnova.net/, which makes his work—the world he observed and the things he published, presented, and taught—available to everyone.

Create Dangerously by Albert Camus, Penguin Modern: 17, 2018. English

The conferences collected in this little book are a call to view the creative process with social responsibility. It brings together three speeches, including the one that gives the book its title, which Camus delivered at the University of Uppsala in Sweden in December 1957, shortly after being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. We rediscovered this gem at the Laie Bookstore at the CCCB, one of our favourite bookshops in Barcelona. This idea—that a creator is an intrinsic part of their context—is a core principle of our agency’s strategies and something we always strive to put into practice. We understand how deeply intertwined we are with our culture and context, and we bring this understanding to every project.

Information Graphics edited by Taschen. 2020. Edition: Multilingual in English, French, and German.

This book collects a wonderful selection of maps, diagrams, and infographics that serve as masterful pieces of communication in a world saturated with meaningless numbers. This lovely book was a gift from our friends María García and Jesús Caldeiro during our recent trip to Madrid. María is the founder of Relumbra, and Jesús is the Director of Customer Experience at Ipsos. Both are passionate about the importance of human connection. The book, like our friends themselves, inspires us to keep thinking about the purpose, meaning, and need for good communication between people.

Ruelles by Ariel Tarr and Florence Sara G. Ferraris. Group d’édition la courte échelle, Division Parfum d’Encre, 2024. (French)

This book is a beautiful tribute to the act of wandering and getting lost within the labyrinths of Montreal’s back alleys (and, in our case, also within a friend’s library, since we first discovered it on Emeric Paré‘s bookshelves). It shines a light on a unique type of social space and a distinct way of building community. This democratic, spontaneous, and open-minded spirit is a hallmark of Montreal’s culture, reflected in its urban design, and we were lucky enough to experience it once again this summer with our friends and French literature professors, Christian Paré and Roxane Lajoie. This is a spirit the world needs more of.

Enjoy fall. Enjoy your readings! And then join at wonnd for a nice coffee or tea, and a conversation and inspire our next season readings!
